Superb video. Valsecchi got a lot out of Hamilton here. People that think driving at that level is just a matter of having a good car should be feeling the burn by now.

Man I wish Hamilton drive for Williams under Paddy Lowe right now.

Well Halo or Windscreen or open cockpit, the discussion is irrelevant. This type of protection is here to stay. Period. In certain situations a Halo like device would have made it more complicated to get out unscathed. Same goes for a windscreen device. But the fact is that there is scientific proof that a Halo or Windscreen device would have helped in over 20 cases in the last 10 years alone (undisclosed numbers from the FIA themselves) Counted from all national and international formulae. So it is coming and it will stay. But in which form, we may hope for a canopy like system.

Motorsport. com seem to have a photo of the nose of , presumably, the new car, as Acronis is on the car and there are other changes (Oris detail, and Rexona being in that position).

Interesting shot. If that is the new car, the way the nose curves sharply from the Pirelli sticker down suggests a radically different nose treatment.

Could be the lighting.. but that looks matte white to me. A more cream version to say the least. And a more rounded top of the nose.
I'm getting excited. Two more days!!

Certainly different compared to the evolutions we've seen from 2014 onwards.

something is happening on both ends of that photo.

On top there seems to be the start end of fins on each side...could it be some sort of F duct

While at the bottom it looks like a short nose with protruding attachments to the Wing - some sort of mini Walrus nose?

maybe, it is only a showcar nose (Sm16)

the cream color is likely because of warm interior lighting (Sm16)

we will see the truth only on Thursday...

Could well be the new nose looks like it could be quite unusual.

Paddy has said to RACER magazine that he changed only the bits and bobs that are in need of changing.
Could very well be just some changes but not as dramatic as earlier messages have suggested.

I agree with Vancha, it does look like FW32 nose with Martini livery.

Yep it definitely is the Fw32 Nose. Where the hammerhead meets the camera, and the horizontal turning vane behind it

Could be. Good spot by the way!

On the other hand, the FW32 is a heritage machine nowadays. Which means that it will remain in it's raced livery. Plus, Williams doesn't have a habit repainting old cars unless it is a showcar. Which the FW32 isn't.

Except they have 4 fw32s only 1 of which needs to remain in it's livery. You can actually tell if you look at the wing in the photo. The chords are very rectangular not sculpted by today's standard and have the big triangle turning vane on the inside just like the fw32.

There is no way this car is anything but. It has the same nose and wing.

It may all be a spoof but there is a video at

and

Where an FW33 has been painted in the current(ish) livery.

Bye

Ian

Well that does make it clear doesn't it? It's the FW32. Thanks for all the detail Mike and Ian!
