Nice updates, hope that the new exhaust is finnaly ready and working as it should have. It first appered on the car during mid seson test. They newer raced it, but they alwais raced the open exhaust configuration, maybe the problem was engine cooling, since now they have new holes in the bodywork?

Thought i'd bump up this thread.

drunkmunkey's post on the 4th October shows Williams sporting what looks to be a coander exhaust system. Is this the one Williams are using permanently, or merely trialing out for 2013 as I have not seen enough images. Can anyone help?

I don't know much about exhaust systems, but there looks to be a few strategies knocking around out there- as Craig Scarbrough elaborates on. I found this article very helpful if you are not trained in physics beyond GCSE level...

Scarbs F1

Apparently, due to rule changes next year, coander exhausts will probably be the only way to go in 2013.

the other concern both drivers seem to have voiced is Williams' DRS system. RedBull appear to have singlehandedly turned the title fight on it's head with their new Double DRS system- how many other teams have them now, does anyone know? And do Williams have one in the pipeline?

Have we actually run the coander exhaust in a gp? Our solution haunt solution seems quite basic compared to most (although clearly hasn't held us back and Merc development seems to have been a shocker, but if this is the way to go, would have been nice to see on the car at some point.

That front wing has been on the stands at every single GP since India. It hasn't been raced but it has been tested plenty.

No. According to the BBC, after the Silverstone testing, the team decided that it interrupted our rear aerodynamics philosophy and so they brought it to a few practice sessions since to acquire some data for next year's car, which will be designed with an integrated exhaust system.
