Re: Williams admits Newey 'mistake'

newey has stated many times that he relishes it when the rules and regs change. this allows him to stretch his mind for new solutions. that is what is happening in 2014 and he will be in his element at RBR. forget him returning to williams.

Barnard and Byrne are in the Patrick Head age group (past the selling date). Newey is 12 years younger than this group. He has nothing to win going back to Williams.

I thing that 2012 and 2013 will be hard on Newey since no rule changes and we will see the cars very close together. the main advantage RBR now Sebastian. Just like the Michael/Byrne combination at Ferrari.

There's still a problem, it's called Adrian Newey. There's only one of him

Actually, this is the problem isn't it. They would have said that about Barnard and/or Murray before Paul Ricard 1990.

Perhaps the question is really: "Why haven't we found the next one?" And that is all teams - not just Williams.

Every so often and not very often you get something special that comes along. Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Montana, Bo Jackson, Diego Maradonna, Garry Sobers, Brian Lara, Marcus Allen, Schummy..... People right at the top of their game. Adrian is right up there. We are witnessing a phenomenon. All you can do is admire him. He is an original thinker. First and foremost he follow his own thinking. He will only use someone else's ideas when he understands their thinking. Adrian is not perfect but he is very very special. Enjoy his work while you can.

Ps Rich Gannon

Williams and proud of it.

Agree pgj. He's been phenomenal. Working for the wrong teams but phenomenal nonetheless.

Don't know a couple of names you mentioned, though... Who's garry sobers? Gonna have to look it up, get some culture.
