Now I know what MSP stands for!

Any bets that we next see him in McLaren gear?

Valid observation. But I doubt if anyone will ever survive in the piranha club by being Mr Nice Guy. We do have Gillan and a few others to look after the racing interest.

We have Alex Burns on the operational side as CEO, so I see Nick Rose's role as more of a financial director. That partnership could be a very good one with clear demarcation and a 'racer' at the day-to-day helm of the team.

Parr has done a wonderful job management, I wish him the best of luck ... The board will not suffer in my opinion, we have several non-executive directors, the structure is well defined ... will change only the apex of the pyramid.

I expected Wolff as chairman ... he has a strange role, very marginal

Could he be leaving for a bigger team? Are Ferrari calling?

Reports seem to be mixed.

Benson on the BBC website reported that to fill the hole, SFW will take a more hands on role, with Toto Wolff and Alex Burns also filling the gap, which suggests this was certainly NOT planned.

If it was planned, it makes SFW's step back and declaration that Parr was the natural successor utterly baffling.

Bernie said that changes were needed at the very top for Williams- which indicates a will greater than that of idle personal dislike.

Terranova19, I think you may well be bang on the money here. What a peevish detail to include in the latest concorde agreement- for all teams who have won a championship SINCE 2000, to receive extra money. It just so happenes that this arbitrary deadline would screw Williams over.

I think some hand-forcing has been going on, and Williams are worse for it, not better.

Parr is looking like having a good "posthumous"legacy with Williams, looking at the FW34. I credit the turnaround to Parr having the strength of character to get Patrick Head to swallow his pride and admit he was wrong about Sam Michael.

Sad to see him going, Top Quality is always good to have around.

All the best Adam! Thank you

Quote Gavyn "What you are missing is that Bernie has already bought out Death and all his various subsidiaries! :-)"

LOL!

I heard Bernie went on to sell Death and it's various subsidaries to a Venture Capital group for an enormous sum, but due to his irreplacable expertise, continues to manage all of death's interests, retaining, of course, all eternal-life bonuses.

And he will give some of the death subsidiaries to Ferrari, as usual... (Sm139)

Speechless! Man, got the same feeling when Sam was leaving, a feeling of uncertainty, but look one year later and we are so much better, kind of relieved that Sam left. Though I feel Parr did a much better job than Sam in their respective fields. Things are just starting to turn around and I actually credit Parr with the turnaround, Yeah ppl didn't like him, but as the saying goes, the more enemies you have.....

Just when SFW thought he could relax a bit, Wham! Parr was the heir apparent! and he just left......just left, I don't buy this better balance stuff, the truth will come out once we know where he ends up.

A week back in oz, in the press conference, there was no hint of anything, I am pretty sure even he didn't expect this or he is very good actor!

Hopefully this Rose chap has his act together.

Will he be the new face of the team, or will Mark take up his on-track activities too?

Just shows, in F1....you never know.

After a hard dayz work, and you come and see this, Bah! good night chaps!

No.1

Agree with most comments here. It's baffling and surely there is a lot more to it than what we're currently aware of.

If indeed his departure is for personal reasons then you'd guess he has a major problem in his hands. Otherwise why would it be on such short notice? Could be his health, his family, whatever... Hopefully none of these.

I tend to think however that the Concord agreement has rattled the team's power structure. That could only happen if the team is in risk of losing a LOT depending on the decision they take, and you'd guess that AP's departure could mean he was pulling in a direction that the rest of the board did not appreciate. Just a hunch obviously, purely speculatory, but that's what makes the most sense to me.

The press release was adulatory and cozy, but between the lines I read that there's a major shitstorm brewing at Williams.

Also, as someone posted on a comments section on the internet, isn't the new board going to be formalized on 1st april, they day after AP leaves?

I wouldn't want to think that Claire's role has anything to do with it. We'll know soon enough, hopefully.

Re: Adam Parr Resigns!
Darron 26 March, 2012 19:29
Isn't there also a clause in the new Concorde Agreement as well as winning the championship since 2000, something about the team changing its name since 2000?

Doesn't that then rule out Red Bull and what is now called Lotus? isn't that whey Mercedes are a bit peeved at the moment?

Or is it only as far back as 2005, which then lets Red Bull off?

The news didn't affect the share price.

The vacancy we have is for a Team Principal to take control over the race weekend and beyond. Parr didn't have the racing pedigree, but could run the business side.

SFW can't attend all races, Mark Gillan seems to be in charge at the racetrack. But he has at least three people more senior than him day- to-day.

Wasn't it last year that Colin Kolles was linked to us - I'm not sure he's the answer, but we do need a senior full time team principal to take over from Frank.
