O/t motor racing books and magazines

Thought I would start a new thread on books and mags about the sport we love.

Can I commend the new Damon Hill autobiography. I read it in 24 hours, totally engrossing. This is him opening up about all sorts of aspects in his life, and there is loads about Williams, sfw, Patrick head, newly, sennna, etc. If you buy one f1 book this year make it this one. I've probably read 500 motor racing books over the years and this is top 1% as a read. Most interesting is Damon suffered depression through and after much of his f1 career.

Has anyone read the Adam Parr Ross Brawn business of f1 book? Had a leaf through it in Waterstones and I quite fancy it.

Finally the best f1 writer Nigel Roebuck is rejoining Autosport this month to write his famous fifth column again after a near 10 year break whilst at Motorsport magazine. Might start buying Autosport agin now.

Hope this is a good o/t thread.

I read both Motorsport and Autosport, they have some cracking insights, but maybe a subscription to Autosport+ online would be better.

Damon's book is superb. I sat up all night with my Mum in a nursing home on what was sadly her last and read 90% of it. Also for Xmas got Johnie Herbert's book which is a good read with some interesting but not surprising insights into the Benetton years. Just started 'Total Competition' last night and it looks interesting so far. For older stuff the Ken Tyrell book is good, I think by Hamilton and also Murray Walker's autob.

Very sorry to hear Ozzy, commiserations. Nigel Mansell's autobiography is an interesting read, but I would like to read Mark Webber's bio, if only to see how fractious his stay at RB was.

Thanks, it was not a surprise and if anything probably a relief for her. I've got a signed copy of Nige's book somewhere. Might give that another go.
