He's left Merc now. Should be confirmed at Williams shortly.

Given that he will have a deep knowledge of how that car works, this is a stroke of genius from Clare.

Lowe Will be interim TD before Key joins us for 2018 to be our full time TD. In 2018 Lowe will become team principal combined with some shares. The same time Claire will be gaining the ownership of sir Frank.

That's basically all the "news" right now combined in one short story.

If Williams had extra cash and did a share buyback right now they would pay 16c for every 25c they got when shares were floated.

I guess they need to if they intend to give shares to management in the future and still own 50%+1 and remain in power.

The team has an amount of shares issued but not allocated to be granted to employees if they meet performance criteria. In effect cheap share options. They were allocated to Sam, Adam and head of production all of who left before they could be cashed in ( share price had dropped anyway). This Is what could go to senior recruits or existing talent

Sorry what do you mean by ' before they could be cashed in ' ?

As far as I know when shares were floated on the stock exchange it was meant to raise funds, and SFW retained only 51%. the rest were sold off to raise funds.

so what I understand is that if SFW wants to give shares to Lowe then he won't have the 51% anymore.

I might be wrong so please explain, I d like to hear on this.

Also found an article that says that Brad Hollinger has 15%. If Stroll senior has 10% and SFW has 51% the there's the remaining 24% on the frankfurt exchange that are currently trading at 16c, albeit on very low volumes.

Extract from Wikipedia.

It was reported on 20 November 2009 by Reuters that Williams and Patrick Head had sold a minority interest in their team to an investment company led by Austrian Toto Wolff[6] who has stated that it was purely a commercial decision.[7]

In February 2011, Williams F1 announced their intention to float via an initial public offering (IPO) on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWcool smiley, from March 2011. Swiss-based Bank am Bellevue AG will act as sole global co-ordinator of up to 27.39% of existing shares, a total of 2,739,383 shares. The shares will be offered to the public in the UK, Germany, Switzerland and Austria; while private institutional investment will be available to organisations in other EU countries, plus the United States, Canada, Japan and Australia. Sir Frank Williams will remain majority shareholder and team principal after the IPO.[8] The shares are valued at between 24 and 29 euros, which values the Williams F1 team at 265 million euros.

So if this is correct then my previous statement should read.

27.39% floated on stock exchange
15.00% previously owned by toto now of Hollinger
57.61% SFW + PH (if he still has a share)

Just checked corporat info on Williams website. There are 10 million shares issued trading currently at 16 per share.

Of these 350,000 are held in am employee share trust. Only 290,000 of these have been allocated as share options to employees (but as yet not taken up in terms of employee calls in option and buys shares at original option price). There are therefore 60,000 share options capable of being granted without recourse to wider shareholders.

The end of 2015 accounts have a note saying sir frank owns 52.25% of shares. Other shareholders are not listed but so far as I am aware the stroll family does not own a declarabke stake in the compan

Future looks quite good...maybe we will have a weak season this year but it's best news to have 2 top TDs heading to our team, way more important than having Bottas for a year or 2.
Big names bring in better engineers, attract better drivers and with Stroll money, they can produce a very good car for '18 and years after it.

They will trip each other over and the situation will be toxic. TD = Top Dog. Cant have 2.

We're not having two TD's. We're having Lowe as interim before Key starts and subsequently Lowe moving up towards either team boss or director of the whole Williams company.

There won't be 2 actual TDs at work, by the time Key arrives, Lowe will be team boss...but atleast we can be sure '18 would be designed by Lowe's ideas and after that, Key looks to be a capable one too.
