The FW40 is not feeling well.

Re: Massa not feeling well
TMT 29 July, 2017 10:26
Maybe Massa knows the FW40 is crappy so he is making excuses because he does not want to drive a crappy car that is going to be P15 in this race.

Massa is smarter than what I thought he is basically saying here you go Paul you drive this crappy car because I'm not.

Hope it's nothing serious for the old man. Looks like Crusty might have his dream come true and see Paul DR race a Williams.

Sounds like it may be official. Stroll better shine against Paul.

Good point. Daddy won't be impressed if Lance doesn't smash him!

Massa will be fine trust me it will be nothing serious, it is probably just a common cold.

Stroll must be able to destroy him! 2 generation of cars since the last time DiResta raced a Formula1 car.still on his best years he was nothing special too so it must be a piece of cake to beat a Tv commentator.

I'd agree, this should be easy meat for Stroll, but I don't expect Di Resta to be a slouch either. I've stuck up for him a few times in the past so I'm quite excited to see how he performs. He's got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

After that qually performance by Williams I too am feeling unwell!

Seemed like Stroll could've scraped into Q2, or been closer. Did he get held up by Kvyat on his fastest lap? A bit disappointed by that. Di Resta was a nice surprise, I had him down as being not too far off but still last, but his rate of progression impressed me. Listening to his comments with Sky after the quali, and looking at the laps, it looked like he could've been faster but wasn't keen on risking it and wanted to keep it on track, which is fairly sensible in his position, and in all honesty only Wehrlein was there to take if he had. Overall, I'm more impressed by DiR than I thought I would be and less impressed by Stroll than I thought I would be, I think Stroll should've been closer to the bubble (he would've been without the Turn 4 mistake on his penultimate lap).

MS I give this credit more to "Massa/Stroll combo being not on the highest level" than "DiResta out of nowhere comming back and surprise with his speed."

In fact the visible thing for me is not his speed but a prove of lack of speed by our original drivers who can be under attack by a tv commentator who last raced in f1 4 years ago and had zero laps of practice.

I honestly think you're a bit harsh on Di Resta here but then I also know full well it's not the calibre of drivers we expect. Still, some credit has to be given to him, as you say, 4 years out and was expecting to be on Sky Saturday morning yet found himself in the car by the afternoon, kept it out of the walls and put in a decent time considering the circumstances. Not epic but respectable.

I think you write bullsh1t. Paul gets instantly fitted for a seat and drives under an unknown car setup and comes within 7/10ths of Stroll out of no where in a mere few laps.

Imagine Paul had a daddy who could throw around $80 million and command his personal Williams and Mercedes Team to travel the world and practice, practice, practice! Wait Stroll was what about 3 seconds slower in Australia Quali?

Phatjack I am pretty sure your IQ is not even a 3 digit number.you are trying to be against something that's not said and written.
Try to breath abit, your hatred for posts by some specific posters is getting out of your control, maybe harmful for your health.

MS, yes, absolutely...nothing short of a solid job, all I mean is his performance proves how much our drivers are far from the true potential of this car.logocally if a driver jumps into a F1 car, without practice without pgysical training without seat fitting without anything, shouldn't be able to be around the pace of original driver.

Mehryar, again bullsh1t, you discredit Paul by down playing the caliber of Massa and Stroll.

But if that floats your boat go for it.

I don't need to downplay his performance.his resume and career is clear despite all the support he could get from media, yet he failed to stay in F1.
Does this mean his pace is slower than a pay-driver? No! You fail to get the point like 99% of times.normal.
