What do you think.

He could help him set up the car and keep doing the sim work bringing
himself and the car up to speed.

Plus get some Friday runs to show the team how he we hope is improving.

My first impression was we are nuts, but it could be the best of two worlds

Do you really know what a race engineer actually does?

Maybe not race engineer but mentor maybe.

I seem to recall Wurz being appointed as a driver mentor in 2012 and it seemed to have no effect.

I will stick with the engineer idea he can push his instincts/reactions.
through after Sergeys feedback.

Comes across as Kubica being desperate.

Well if you had is abilities before the accident and you had is current injuries while trying to make a comeback you would probably try everything for a shot at racing again.

I strongly believe mentaly he is far better than both our drivers TBC, but phisically no one knows and money talks and without the injurie it would be hard with it it's even harder to prove yourself.

Everytime I post there are always voices against my opinion in this forum, maybe because I'm sick of excuses and bad decisions from the team, and know there's this choice of driver and I just don't believe in the justification the team is giving that is performance! That's bu/!$#!€ and anyone from outside can see it cause it's obvious.

About this idea of beying race engenieer it is what it is Kubica isn't a engenieer as far as I know.
Driver mentor doesn't fit too cause at the end you can't be in the cockpit for the other guy.

He is in talks to take a role but an engineer? That sounds like a long shot.driving and engineering behind the scene are 2 seperated parts...drivers hardly (in new era) have much of an impact on that side.from what you read through their interviews and radio conversations, they mostly ask for this result in car behaviour or that behaviour.
The process and things to be changed for what a driver asks for is done and decided by the engineer.I for one doubt any driver on the grid knows as much as his engineer about how to setup a car these days.
So whether he wants to stay as a reserve/test/development/whatever driver or he wants to switch to become a race engineer.

Hopefully it won't be a driver mentor role.he is going to waste his self time with that role and brings in zero effect imho.Driver mentors like Wurz, or Stroll's one proved there's no gain in that...I can remember Rosberg echoing that.you can not learn how to turn by listening to your mentor (his dad in that case)...other things are based on data about where a driver loses time where to brake harder and those stuffs which needs a race engineer.

Btw I wonder why Williams doesn't announce Sirotkin.DiResta is going for another series, Kvyat is in Ferrari, Pascal is told to be sent for a seat supported by Mercedes in another serie and now Kubica is out.there is no one else do what's the point? You can not take more money when there is only one option on the table.
