Official website has changed “our partners” to reflect sponsors which have left: Martini, JCB, Oris are the main departures. Orlen listed second, below Rexona.

Website shows hybrid design retaining two colour stripes used when Alcohol sponsors not permitted.

I recall Oris have been late to return to the website before, presumably due to ongoing negotiations.

I hope we see more Polish support, I.e. RK’s “Lotos” sponsor.

Does anyone have any idea of any other sponsors which have been linked to the team?

They updated it quickly this time, thanks pixel.

WOW I expected sponsors departing but not so many. It looks so dire right now... sad smiley

So those are who left: Martini(known),SMP Racing (known), JCB (didn't expect it, although when they were announced it was in relation to Stroll), Oris (didn't expect it, but the deal was lasting for too long I guess), Canada Life (expected ie Stroll), Financial.org or Foin (didn't expect but probably they're linked to Stroll too), BT (didn't expect it) and Bombardier (Stroll sponsor).

8 sponsors have left!! (Sm8)

I hope we have a couple of new ones on the pipelane...

Not a surprise (except Oris). The team made itself too depended on pay drivers when it was performing and could get normal sponsors but when you choose to go for a pay driver line-up, you can't expect a Coca-Cola showing faith in your team to make a deal.

Totally agree. We should have tried harder to get Kimi when he came back. A few of us said so at the time. It doesn't look great to a sponsor.

At least in 19 our drivers look very credible and the 'story' of KUB's miracle return may bring some interest.

Good morning,

Do an internet search on Financial.org and the results are not pretty.

Oris is sad but they have been with Williams for ages and have Williams branded watches, but that is quite a niche market and many of them were at the very cheap end of luxury watches or the very top end of non luxury watches, £800 plus.

Bye

Ian

The biggest surprises are Oris, Financial.org and BT. The rest are gone as expected and instead of SMP we got Orlen this year so no big issue here. Happy to still have Rexona on board.
I hope we announce some new partners soon enough tho.

Indeed. I get that pecunia non olet, but I have the impression that with financial.org and SMP Williams may have had taken it a bit too literally. In any case, with both out, and Rexona still in, at least the smell should improve.

I would prefer it if Williams were sponsored by LYNX body spray instead of Rexona.

I think LYNX is a cooler brand than Rexona.......just sayin.

LYNX thumbs down

Rexona thumbs up

Does Rexona own LYNX??? If they do the Williams car should have LYNX branding on it instead of Rexona....LYNX would be better, I just think LYNX is a funkier brand than Rexona....Rexona is a bit old fashioned....LYNX all the way.

Yes, Unilever does own Lynx/AXE as well as Rexona/Sure and yes Lynx is funkier than Rexona and deliberately so.

How many 16-24 year olds, Lynx's target market, watch F1 though? If e-sports genuinely takes off then it may be a more appropriate brand.

Bye

Lol yes it does haha.

But Ozzy do you agree that LYNX branding on the Williams car would be cooler and better than old fashioned Rexona?

At least two more to come; one obvious, one surprise!

You're teasing us big time there! (Sm100)

Obvious one may be Lotos?? Given that BT have left the team and Sky are stopping their cycling team as a forum member mentioned here maybe they could join us as there wouldn't be a conflict of sponsors.

Other current F1 sponsors that have left the teams they were sponsoring are Weichai Power and Chandon.

Gives us more please. tongue sticking out smiley

Edit: Sofina is the obvious one. I completely forgot about Latifi. lol

Wasnt it Oris who did a last minute deal last year as well? I remember them leaving the partners page and then rejoined as Melbourne started.

Lotos is in a merger with PKN Orlen. So in effect the Lotos outings of last year (on the Kubica merchandise) have changed to PKN Orlen.

Correct.

Also wouldn't be surprised if Oris resign late as in previous years, particularly as they only launched a Kubica watch just before Christmas.

+ 1 other (Sm100)

as AJ said, Lotos is Orlen so not expecting anything from them, all the other sponsors that left are linked to Stroll in one way or another.
