Charles Leclerc will win the 2019 Formula 1 WDC.

You guys can come back to this thread at the end of the 2019 season and tell me what a good judge I am when this happens because it will happen,...Leclerc will win the 2019 WDC I am 100% sure of this.

Actually this would be a good new name instead of news and stuff

I can't hear anything.

I think if Honda maintain their rate of development, Max will be a good candidate for the title . . . he's looked very hungry for wins the last few races.

Max looked a little too hungry for good taste at times.
He will get it dished out to him again.

With some small reservation, I watched how he tackled Ocon and Bottas in Abu Dhabi.
You may call it racing, but hitting a guy mid-corner to balance out the car will only go so far... he will find a more solid wall eventually.

I think VER will ultimately get in too many scrapes to take the title. I may be wrong. Lewis has been virtually flawless this year. I can see LEC doing a similar job to HAM before VER gets his head together. Plus questions over Honda, especially on reliability.

LEC is very impressive, no doubt. Always has been and continues to be so. Pity his mate Bianchi didn't also end up at Ferrari. That would have been some line up.

LEC has to be an outside bet. I might even put a tenner on him.

Leclerc could do wonders in time.. but he will give Vettel a run for his money.
There will be lots of 'talking later' in the Ferrari pits in 2019.

Yes. He seems a sort of gentle character which may hold him back at the highest level. He's always been so fast, he didn't need to worry about what his team mate was doing. We will see if he has teeth. He's a good guy and I like him. Wish him well.

Merc and Red Bull will probably make the most of the rule changes I think. And Paddy will pull a rabbit out of the hat! Ferrari will once again not quite be fast enough!

Lewis was similar to Max at some point in his career. You'd flinch whenever he went for an overtake because he seemed so desperate to get it done at the soonest possible moment which is a huge gamble. It's not good driving, lewis now is a very good overtaker but his approach us clinical. Max needs to lose a few more points to realise that it's simply not worth the risk. He arguably cost himself the win in Brazil for example, and crashing into bottas at Abu Dhabi when bottas was so much slower is a prime example. Great driver with too many poor decisions

Ozzy you are very close to being right on the money with Leclerc but I am going out of my way and going one step further and saying 100% Leclerc will win the 2019 WDC.

HAM will win again. Ferrari will put all their eggs in the VET basket and Seb will cock it up

Re: You heard it here first....

A smart Ferrari would make LEC no.1. VET has had enough chances. Give him a dominant car and a weak team mate and he can ace it. Any pressure and he folds.

I think LEC in the Ferrari is going to be the story of 2019.

Maybe they try something different this year, as with Massa and Raikonnen in 2008?

Looking forward to Leclerc in Ferrari, at least for the novelty of seeing a young driver there. Should be interesting. It could set up a rivalry between himself and Verstapen that could last well into the 2030s.

Having said that, Mercedes are probably the favorites. Peak Hamilton + Mercedes is a fearsome combination.

Absolutely.

Right now, Charles just needs to enrol in boxing classes at the local gym and take an intensive wheelbanging course.
