See our reserve driver Latifi is heading the pack in F2. He seems to have upped his game this season and the team seem to have found a good balance in the car. I still miss Artem Markelov though in F2.

You can still see Markelov in Super Formula . . . where he battles Ticktum, the possible replacement for Gasly . . . as well as the most sinfully under-age looking grid girls on the planet.

Meanwhile, Mick Schumacher is doing just terrible in his rookie season in F2!
I know it's early races and he's a rookie but George started to perform in these races last year...erm, even earlier.

He may improve alot, considering his surname he surely gets alot of support by media, fans, teams and even promoters which can make a mediocre driver look good but is he a super talent? I don't think so.
Those who perform in their rookie season right away, are usually the next generation superstars if they're given the right equipment...Mick doesn't belong to that group imo.

Don't think that's a fair comment considering William's last WDC was the son of a famous F1 father.

But it's good that despite what's in a driver's DNA there's always room for a struggling team to try to make a buck off of a driver *cough* a Bottas for example.

Russel to my mind deserves better than wasting his time trundling around at the back of the grid. But hey that's life and sometimes it sucks.

It didn't do Alonso harm when he debuted at Minardi, now did it not?

Good point. There's a lot to be said for running around learning the game without undue pressures and expectation.

Ricciardo did his apprenticeship at HRT.

Webber was another Minardi graduate.

What's worrisome is how Minardi and HRT fared after hosting the hotshot rookies...

It didn't hurt Fred having Flavio in his corner either? I can't recall why Sauber chose Massa over Fred though?

I underestimated the Mercedes this year I now think Leclerc has only a 1% chance of winning the 2019 WDC.

LOL.

How do you go on the horses, Whitey?!

Leclerc got destoyed by Vettel today. sad smiley It looks he wouldn't be WDC this year even if Mercedes didn't dominate. sad smiley

so looks like Kubicas sponser Orlen is starting to make waves about wanting out of Williams and looking for drives elsewhere.

Cant see him being here next year …

And the more interesting thing is from Kubica's own interview recently:

“In addition, George Russell is one of the bigger talents of the young generation, with very high skills. He has said the car is better and better, but I don’t want to comment on that. It is his point of view.

“I have never driven George’s car so I cannot judge, but you do not have to drive to see some things.

“It can be said that we have sometimes driven in two different races, because the time difference on such a short lap as Canada, where there are seven corners, shows that there are two different worlds,” concluded Kubica.

Doesn't he have a plan to stop all these BS in near future?

Whitey, do you still visit this forum by chance?

What do you think about Max Verstappen finishing this season ahead of Charles Leclerc in WDC?

You were 100% sure that Leclerc would be a WDC this year, but not only did he lose to Mercedes drivers, but also to Verstappen. sad smiley

Verstappen = (Sm152)
Leclerc = (Sm8)
