Its been a massive part of my life but maybebecoming less so.

I got into it in 84/85 and became a massive Prost fan and Maclaren.

Had a year out pre uni working as a gofer in Junior formula ford, same year Coulthard won, and Mark Albon came 3rd ish.

I also got a hobby job for Chequers Travel which became Motor Tacing International as a Tour Manager and have had the great privilege to escort tours to over 100 Grand Prix over the years and 25 plus Le Mans, and the Indy 500. Wonderful memories.

I became a Williams fan in 2006 when BMW left them in the role of historic privateer underdog, and Im desperate for something to happen to allow them to bounce back.

Its a great sport but is missing loads of tricks to the young upstart Formula E. Fan boost is a brilliant idea, as is the attack mode thingies. And the sport has messed up by the scale of inequity, and pay drivers. I wish they would have a draft for new drivers like American sports.

They could also have a veterans race at certain Grand Prix, maybe on a Saturday after qualifying. Id love to see my favourites out there.

Like you another 2018 from Williams and it is going to be hard to keep the motivation going. But time will tell whether its a good year or bad. I would love for it to be a good year.

I think it's somehow the same topic as whitey's but about your FE refrences, It's an interesting serie, it's growing on a fast rate but these are early steps.Car manufactures are taking over step by step & won't be that much long before they create problems there, make it too expensive, block new rules & those kindda stuff.I think it's better to look at them after 4-5 yrs more and then judge them against F1.
About our beloved sport, my visions are pretty clear:

-Forget KERS or electric motor or everything.Switch back to v8 & v10.Make those engines cheaper, lighter, more exciting and let all those who moan about road car relevancy leave all together.If they leave, costs would drop & private engine suppliers like Cosworth can be back.

-Cost cap of 150m $ for all teams (bar drivers salaries)

-Make front and rear wings one plate and quite simple.

-Give more freedom about size, placement & design of bodywork though with the ban of winglets.

-Give more freedom on mechanical side of design (suspension & those stuffs)

-Increase the pitlane speed upto 150-160km/hr

-Bring back refueling.

With these changes, F1 will be cheaper & closer.Overtaking issue will be gone.There will be crazy and different design up & down the field.There will be more freedom on design part which can result on surprise winners, more freedom on strategies and there will be more chances of road car relevancy with mechancial side of the car.Atm most of the costs are done on engine side and aero parts.Both have zero input on road car industry imo.
