Roger Cleary's Push Up Challenge
Posted by: growler (IP Logged)

Roger is doing a series of exercise tips for each Grand Prix.

For Australia, it is push ups:-

1) Place your hands shoulder-width apart, feet together
2) lower your body towards the floor in a controlled manner, keeping your back straight.
3) When your chest is an inch from the floor, push back up to position 1. Repeat.

Push-ups are a good way to build endurance, core and upper body strength, which are important for everyday activities, such as carrying your luggage to races. Red Bull Trainer Roger Cleary advises: “this quick test can help you assess your upper body strength and track your progress through the season. doing press-ups in the way we have described above, see how many you can do in succession. Women might prefer to use the ‘bent knee’position, which is the same as above, but with your knees on the floor.”

How did you do?:-

I thought exactly the same thing for few minutes

The I realized -20 means leass that 20 pushups like 54+ means more than 54 pushups

Jeez, I hope Roger does a better job on the pit board. Try working that lot out at 320kph down the main straight!!

That's odd, can't find that on the Aussie GP guide.

Sorry about that, the push-ups section wasn't showing on the RBR site earlier. I found it now so don't know what the problem was. (Sm26)

Push ups really are hard to do.

I just did 24 push ups but that was it, tried to get the 25th one in but just couldn't do it i was stuffed.

Guys if you haven't tried yet try and do some push ups and you will see once you get past 20 it starts to get really hard.

Do as many as you can twice a night. Give yourself about 20 minutes in between. If you find you can only do 20 or so to start with, set yourself a goal of 25 tomorrow. You'll be suprised how fast you can push 50-60-70 with a bit of effort.

Doesn't take long, is good for you.

Puts hairs on your chest.

Actually, that may have been bits of my carpet.
