"Key Server Error ...please try again" for me on live timing.

Hope they fix it for quali.

Live timing is fine for me. Using the large version. Yiu might try clear cookies if you are having problems.

MW looking good as it seems he was running more fuel than Hami and had to slow up in S3 on his fast lap due to MS playing in the sand. SV's off makes things interesting for qualifying too.

Fingers crossed that MW gets the year off to a good start for a change.

Don't listen to our rubbish commentary, Schumi went off in S2 and Mark purpled it.

Maybe a few not coming to grips with the less downforce when opening DRS?

Have Mercedes got a problem with the air not reattaching to the rear wing after closing of DRS disables F duct?

Still more questions than answers. A couple of hours and all will be clearer.

Webber looking ok I think.

True LH but he was .2 quicker in S3 a couple of laps later. On his fastest lap his S3 time on live timing was 34.4 but several lap later he posted a 32.2.

The channel 10 coverage is deplorable. I won't start on specifics as doubt I'll be able to stop.

I don't know LH but one possibility is that he got a warning for yellows without knowing where it was and slowed accordingly. The point I was trying to make being that there is no doubt he could go much quicker in that sector as he showed a couple of laps later. Not to mention that he ran more laps than Hamilton in that run suggesting, given all other things being equal, he may have been carrying more fuel.

Well 5th was a little less than hoped for but it will do Mark good to be infront of his team mate. Special mention for DR for getting into Q3.

Looking forward to the race tomorrow.

Hmmm. Hopefully we've got better race pace... 5th fastest team? Looks like McLaren, Lotus, Mercedes, and possibly Ferrari are all ahead of us at the moment...

Edit: No KERS? WTF Red Bull!?

Don't see how Ferrari are ahead of us. Hopefully the race will show what the car does, the F Duct will not be so effective in the race for Merc and Lotus may not be reliable.

Mclaren are definatly ahead.

Chris

Not what we were hoping for. Apparently Mark had no KERs so would have been a bit faster.

McLaren looking very strong - can only hope the car eats tyres.

Seriously good effort from Grosjean (damn French!).

Webber had no KERS! Is Red Bull running without it, or did his not operate?

So did Seb have KERS? Good effort from Mark if he did. How much is KERS worth - 0.4s?

McLaren and Merc looking hot.

Kimi to join Ian Thorpe in the has-been's retirement home?!

Sebastian admitting he made an error on his last lap. He said that McLaren were out of reach, but didn't seem too down.

Well I said possibly because it's a bit hard to know right now... But in Q1 Alonso out performed both Red Bulls. In Q2 Alonso didn't get to set his best time, but even still he was only 2 tenths off Webber.

No KERS again. This is getting to be a bit of an early season habit for Red Bull.

I think the Mclaren is supposed to be pretty good on tyres so this may be a race between those two. Time will tell. I reckon RBR can get the Lotus in the race but I can't see them catching Mclaren here unless there is some kind of drama or bad starts etc.

At first glance, it looks alot more like '10 instead of '11. I'm sure that the RBR brain trust will keep Seb & Mark solidly in the hunt, though. (Sm13)

I'm not ready to write Ferrari off just yet, but it's clear that they need to find answers, and soon! (Sm17)

To be honest there is only one car worse than Ferrari at turn 1-2 and that was HRT which has not made the race.. They do not look good at all with alot of work to do Alonso best driver on the grid in the worst car!! Poor dude feel sorry for him..

Looking forward to an interesting day with not much between the top 4 teams!! Not sure if anyone can touch up the Ham in saying that, he just looked on his game more than anyone!!

Anyways must run off to the race!! Everyone enjoy themselves and good luck RBR

Alonso chose the money and threw away his chance at Mclaren because he couldn't handle having equal status with his team mate. Granted he is one of the best of all time but he got done over by a rookie and blew his top. Now he's paying for that exclusive number 1 status. He's the best in his team for sure. Hope he feels great about that.

I think 2 things could happen and it's all about tyres. If they hold up, Lewis will run away with this race. If not and they are falling to bits, you have to bet on Button to put one over on him.

Mercedes looks hard on tyres so you have to discount Michael but we don't really know yet. Maybe that's not the case. Romain is the dark horse here but he looks like he's got it all together and can put in a good drive.

Are Red Bull really 7 tenths off the pace? It looks that way, it really does. In which case they won't factor in the race and maybe we'll get to see just how good Vettel really is. Or, quali was an anomoly and they'll find pace in the race.

You have to say though that last year, RBR did most of the job in quali and just converted the races. Mclaren were often a match or better but couldn't qualify high enough.

Will be very interesting.

Lewis looks on song to me. He seems to have got his personal life sorted, at least for now. So my prediction is he'll walk away with it.

Mark's KERS wasn't working in quali, so don't think they were a full 0.7s off the pace, but McLaren still appear strongly ahead on this track.

Also, tyre wear over race distance and race-limited DRS may paint a different picture in race conditions. Will be very interesting to watch.
