Wow - Seb out in Q2, while Mark clocks P1 in Q2 after a pressure lap!!

Obviously the old car exhaust not working out for Seb under pace.

Webber couldn't reproduce his Q2 time in Q3, which have got him to P4 - has to make do with P7.

Red Bulls not happy in China.

Nice pole position for Nico.

I've seen so many RBR fans abuse Merc, really, we're the last team that should be doing that haha!

Anyways, lol at Seb.

Pity about Q3.

Track was slowing as the temperature dropped off, so don't think Mark really had much chance of matching his Q2 time.

Well done to Nico, Schumi, Kobayashi and Kimi. It makes for a very interesting race. Having some cars at the front where race pace isn't as good as quali times may be good news for us. If they can hold up the McLarens for a few laps then we still have a chance at a solid points haul if we can defend ourselves on the long straights.

6/10ths is a mighty big drop off growler at this level - especially in 15 minutes.

Should we run a book on how long it will take RBR/Mc/Fer/Ren/Saub to get a DDRS system with Nico close to 24's.

Vettel gets dicked again. Wont be long until the toys are thrown out of the pram big time at this rate.

And i did not even have to replace the i with a 1 (Sm151)

not one to gloat but how refreshing to see the petulance and the jutting bottom lip of herr V. some eye candy.

just hope that mark can bring it home a bit closer to the front and before herr V gets to the finishing line. that would make my day.

something tells me though that we may be in for race full of incidents and maybe some unusual results.

I've not seen any petulance from Seb. I think he is handling himself well - saying that everyone is working hard, it will take time, but he is confident that the car has a lot of potential etc.

In the interviews I saw of Seb today after his P2 quali exit, he even had a smile or two with the journalist - pretty calm given the circumstances. This article backs that up.

Yes, he is handling it well but you can see it's hurting him. Good, haha. 'bout time Webs put one over him in the race really.

So far this year Seb has had the better of Webs in the races. It has to stop tomorrow or Webs will be fighting DLR for that HRT seat.

Aside from that it's funny to see the wagging finger consigned to the bin. Anyone got a pic of golden balls with 11 fingers.

Quick, photoshop it.

If Vettel hadn't have been shunted off last race he'd be smashing MW in points despite being down a couple of tenths in qually.

I tip Vettel to finish in front of Mark again here. All this gloating and putting down of Seb will only come back to bite us.

he wasn't shunted off...it was as much vettels fault as it was karthikeyan.

at this point in time......webber has out qualified vettel three to nil. webber is eight points ahead in the championship. now this may well change after the race today but at this point in time webber is on top and that is great. chew on that.

It's good he has a pace advantage, hopefully he can nail some podiums before Seb sorts himself out.

Also, it was clearly Narains fault tongue sticking out smiley

Very early stop for Webber. Ted Kravitz saying the tyres were in quite a bad state when they came off. Seb reporting he can't get close to the car ahead on the straights.

Good job from our guys - well saved from a poor quali. glad to see them having a clean fight at the end, and well done to Mark for nicking it at the end and making the 3 stop work.

Well done Britney. Nice to see him get a win.

Good job by Red Bull. Vettel did well on the two stopper, and Webber drove well except for trying to do a Valencia flip.

Pretty exciting race all round really.

Yes - very good race overall. Makes the points standings pretty interesting too.

Mercedes performance all the more impressive when you consider that Nico wouldn't have been using his "Double DRS" (which had been given as the reason for their quali pace) very much - i.e. only when lapping backmarkers.

Good racing and recovery by RBR. Mark will be having an ice pack applied to his nether region after that car jump!!

Yep Growler, who'd of thunk the tyre devouring 1 lap wondercar could run a 2 stopper, let alone make it work.

Sorry Syd but I don't share your sympathy. Did for a few seconds but soon woke up to myself.

what a roller coaster of a race. i was up, i was down and for a time i couldn't understand where it was all going to end.

i personally think that webber drove a fantastic 'cojones out' race. some of his passes were excellent and early on his wheel to wheel action with kimi was some of the very very best that i have seen for quite some time.

rosberg has never been a favourite of mine and i have always thought that he was flakey at best. today he drove very well and he pulled it off. had buttons pit stop not been trashed it may have been touch and go and i think that button may have prevailed. academic now however.

in summary, a great race overall and the championship is still wide open for any number of drivers to prevail. roll on bahrein.

Great video Loud, if you watch it you will notice that Webber had a fairly soft and smooth landing, it is like he popped a wheelie and then just landed it smoothly and went on about his business...classic.

Bet it didn't feel like a smooth landing from inside the car!

I went to the factory once and saw the car undergoing a lap simulation on the 7 post test rig. They have hydraulic pads under each wheel and other parts of the chassis which are controlled by a computer to simulate the bumps and curbs as if the car was actually travelling round a given circuit. It was amazing how violently the car shakes and rattles around even when just driving normally. On TV or even trackside it looks so smooth. The onboard cameras they use must have some serious dampening within them.

Webber reckoned after the race that he'd wake up with a sore neck from the impact.

i think that the helmet cam demonstrates just how violent the cockpit is during a race. it somehow seems to capture a more realistic viewpoint.
