2003 Arrows-less?
This week's court battle has been brought by Morgan Grenfell, who are claiming that their financial guarantees are still valid - something that is strongly denied by Arrows. In addition, the team are claiming that the restructure in July of last year was done with the full approval of the investment bank - something that Morgan Grenfell deny. Also Tom Walkinshaw is being accused of financial irregularities by 'substantially' diluting the investment originally made by Morgan Grenfell (you can see now why AllAboutArrows is leaving this one be).
Whilst this site waits for the final result of the court hearings, and reads the media coverage, a disturbing rumour has surfaced. So far it has only been identified in one place, but the content has some ominous threads of truth about it. F1i.com, in it's latest report on the court case, has revealed that it believes that TWR will no longer by pursuing an appeal process with the FIA over Arrows' 2003 competition entry. When the news broke that TWR were planning to appeal, it was met dubiously by the established media outlets who felt that such attempts would be useless.
Considerable strength has been added to the rumour this morning, with GrandPrix.com reporting that Oliver Behring has cancelled his contract with Arrows. The news comes via the German DPA newsagency and, alongside the F1i.com report, things do not look good for the future succession of the Arrows F1 Team.
More on this when we get it.
