Arrows attracts interest say receivers

Just maybe...

At last a small ray of hope. After all the doom and gloom over the collapse of the Behring deal, and the appointment of official receivers, there now look to be signs of a potential recovery. Fingers crossed that such a recovery takes place on the F1 grid!

Last Thursday, PKF - a firm specialising in business advice and accountancy - appointed Philip Long and Brian Hamblin to manage the team's affairs from now on. PKF are acting on behalf of HSBC, who were offered a large chunk of the team's assests as security on a loan that Arrows took out last spring. Such affairs include the pending court hearings to reclaim unpaid debts, in addition to passing the team on as a going business concern.

Since last Thursday there have been signs of a renewed interest in investing in the team. In fact there has been a suggestion on this site's message board that with Tom Walkinshaw now removed from the Arrows picture, such interest was bound to surface. Morgan Grenfell must be kicking themselves right now, as surely all of the monies that they invested have now gone down the pan - although there is another court hearing connected with this that should bring about a result within a week or so. If only the team had been able to sign the Red Bull deal around the time of the British Grand Prix last year....

Philip Long has put himself on the record already, confirming that there has indeed been plenty of interest in Arrows since Thursday's appointment. "There has been a lot of interest in Arrows," he has been quoted as saying to yet un-named sources. "The global brand has an excellent pedigree, with more than 25 years of racing experience, and will generate a great deal of attention." The only outstanding question is whether these parties are interested in continued involvement in the sport of Formula 1. Well, you know how we at AllAboutArrows feel about that one!
