"I have a good feeling about new car", the Pole said to F1.pl yesterday in Jerez de la Frontera. "The beginning of winter's testing was much better than last year. We didn't have any major issues. Of course some things could be better but we're working on it. Generally speaking I'm pretty confident, myself."
The man from Cracow admitted that before inaugural GP race at Albert
Park F1.09 will be changed. "As always we (BMW Sauber) don't show
what we can do. We have still plenty of time to the first race and test
shows you in which direction you should go. For sure we'll have new
parts in Barcelona and we are going to have some directly in Australia.
Our people are working hard to get maximum out of the new car."
Despite few malfunctions which happened to Hinwill-based team in Andalusia Kubica said he's pleased with new car's reliability."It wasn't anything serious. We
had tiny issues with the engine yesterday but it wasn't a big deal. If
reliability is concerned we're as good as last year."
In Robert's opinion driving on slick with less aero downforce on
dry isn't a big deal. On wet track it is much harder however. "Slick's
brought more mechanical grip so loosing downforce isn't so perceptible.
But on the wet track differences are much bigger. One can clearly feel
less downforce, especially on the front axle. In fast corners car is
very understeery.
At the end polish BMW's ace applied to superlicense fees. "Everyone
knows in what kind of situation we are. None of the drivers is happy
with such high prices. Not everyone earn that much as people think.
Some divers make big money, some do not. Anyway, as I think, everyone
's paid for superlicenses and that should be the end of topic." he
ended.
