Ferrari may not be the best overall car - Alonso

We are Ready!

Speaking to his fans on his blog at ferrari.com, Alonso, said that though F10 remains the best car he has driven so far in his career, he can't say for sure if it’s the best overall car of the season.

He felt the car has great balance, and even a small bit is enough to make a difference, in a positive or negative way, for the title fight.

He assured his fans that whatever the situation be, the team will give it their all for a good start to the Championship.

He went around the Bahrain track on his bicycle along with his race engineer on Wednesday and he said he found a very different, but more guided track. The lap times, he said, may tend to go higher than any other circuit in this season's calendar.

The climate was pleasant, and Alonso along with his team are ready for the first practice session due for tomorrow.

It seems the Ferrari are concerned with the car cooling, as Alonso said, they were waiting to see how the car and the tyres perform in the high temperatures of Bahrain.

The winter testing last month, Alonso pointed out, was done with no more than 25 deg C, while the temperature are currently hovering above 30 deg C in Bahrain. With heavy fuel loads, the pressure on the tyres would be more. Moreover, with a modified track, and new rules in place, previous year's reference point doesn't count much.

Fernando also pointed out the new layout section has a series of corners with medium speed, requiring higher down-force, which will again put more stress on the tyres.

He is however confident that the team is well prepared, and there has been great attention to detail, along with good level of reliability.

Stay tuned for more on tomorrow's first practice day review for the season from the Bahrain track.
