Luca di Montezemolo might leave Ferrari
By Jay
July 28 2010
Strong rumours are again going around that Luca di Montezemolo might be leaving Ferrari after the current season.

French broadcaster TF1 is predicting a change at the top of the Maranello based team.

Montezemolo joined Fiat in 1970s and worked as Enzo Ferrari's assistant before running the F1 team.

He became President of Ferrari in 1991, but has been linked with a move to politicis in the recent years.

34-year-old Andrea Agnelli, part of the famous Agnelli family and currently president of the Juventus football club is rumoured to be Montezemolor's successor at Ferrari.

Montezemolo's rumoured exit from Ferrari was earlier reported in Milan's newspaper Libero, which was denied by Fiat at that time.

It wouldn't surprise me if he just retired altogether. After all, he has worked his ass off for decades and he's getting quite old.

Why not give it up and go enjoy the remainder of his life? If I were him, I would.

I'm sure he'll still be involved in some way: advice, opinion, etc...but it'll free him up to spend his days relaxing and enjoying what life he has left without all the pressure.

Good on him if he does. He deserves it.

This really is no suprise. He is getting on in his years. He has been divesting from his responsibility @ Fiat / Ferrari during the past few years. Retirement would be a logical move. Lake Como or Lake Maggiore in the Summertime is a very wonderful place to be.

Forza Ferrari!!!!

He has worked hard and deserves to enjoy his retirement years in peace though. Can't imagine he'll cut all ties though. It's to much in his blood.
