Now Speed TV.com's Robin Miller reports that the role has been offered to 42 year-old Randy Bernard, who's fourteen-year stint at the reigns of the Professional Bull Riders Association has seen that organization go from being a small, part-time outfit that was still trying to establish itself to a full-time professional sport with and a 'brand' worth roughly $100 million, with some 100 million followers in 85 countries and over $20 million in annual corporate sponsorship revenues.
Belskus and the IMS/Hulman-George leadership have said only that they "don't comment on personnel matters".
Bernard acknowledged that he met with Belskus last week, but says that he has not yet reached a decision on the offer.
Not the most straitforward choice, but could it prove to be an inspired one? First, of course, he has to take the job.
Stay tuned...
