On the same day that IRL president of competiton Brain Barnhart reiterated the league's criteria for the next IndyCar - reuduced cost, 'green' and street car-relevant technologies, best driver safety standards, built in America - the people at Dallara have put forth their ideas on just what that car might look like.
Here are the three possible chassis that Dallara is prepared to build for the IndyCar Series.
Concept #1

Concept #2

Concept #3
Of course, it is also possible that these concepts could be further altered to fit any changes requested by the IRL.
Dallara has been supplying chassis to the IndyCar Series since 2003, and company president Gian Paolo is eager to continue that relationship. "Dallara as a company, a trusted, credible, stable and loyal partner for the Indy Racing League for the past twelve years, commits to support, service and develop this new car by locating a dedicated facility near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway... and it will set new standards in terms of safety, fuel efficiency, raceability, technology performance and cost containment. We can achieve all of these objectives [set by the IRL]."
