Over the past few days different articles such as, Schumacher : Points in Japan should be possible : Costa and Willis join Mercedes GP and Ross Brawn’s : Japanese review have been posted on F1 sites. All of which are indicating there is a strong intention to close off the season with good results and at the same time continue on schedule with the 2012 car.
It looks as though a determined critical path has been chosen by adding personnel who can simultaneously help get more speed out of the current car and add expertise to the design of the 2012 car.
The team seems comfortably stable, and our drivers are contracted. Both are familiar with team procedure and are looking forward to the up-coming races.
Here are some quotes and information from current articles.
Japanese GP review:
Brawn and Haug feel Suzuka offers MGP a great opportunity. New improvements to the track and paddock will more suit the car. Mercedes will work hard to have a strong weekend. Both are hoping the race will offer entertainment for the Japanese people; relieving some of the horrible experiences and tragedy that struck the country last March.
Costa and Willis:
MGP have taken steps to strengthen their technical department signing Aldo Costa and Geoff Willis. Costa parted way with Ferrari earlier this season to become an engineer director in December. Willis of Red Bull and Hispanic will be the team’s new technology director as of October 17th. Along with Bob Bell MGP is moving themselves into the best possible position to achieve future success.
Michael:
Having secured back to back P 5’s, he was looking for a strong Singapore finish but he chopped Perez’s Sauber and DNF’ed. “ Suzuka is a very special circuit and one which has held great races and great memories for me over the years.” “ I am looking to get good results.”
Nico:
Is hoping F1’s new for 2011 overtaking aid, DRS can continue to facilitate passing @ Suzuka this weekend, “I always enjoy visiting Japan for the GP. Suzuka is truly a great race track.”
Last year his Mercedes lost a left rear wheel in an unfortunate incident. This year he’ll try to make amends with the use of the DRS to assist passing on this exceptionally narrow track.
Well there you have it, let’s sit back and see if any of the above can come our way.
