Arrows in trouble if appeal unsuccessful

More trouble?
By Huw Alban December 6 2002
Yesterday (Thursday) it was reported that Oliver Behring had set Arrows a deadline to get an audience with the F1 Commission, in order to appeal against the rejection by the FIA of Arrows’ 2003 Championship entrance application. It would appear that the team have been successful in doing just that.

In fresh news today, Behring has claimed that such a meeting has now been arranged. It is hoped that the team, plus Behring, will be able to put forward a strong enough argument to overturn the FIA's decision, and get the team back on the 2003 grid.

Reportedly the meeting will take place before next weekend, although it is unclear when a decision from this meeting will be released. Behring has also made it plain that, if the meeting results in the decision remaining as is, then he will walk away from the deal already on the table.

Even if the appeal is successful (and popular media comment suggests that it will not be) the team still have the small issue of driver recruitment, an engine deal, not to mention a competitive chassis. As ever, though, AllAboutArrows is 100% behind Behring and the team in their efforts to keep racing.
