Frenten 5th

OrangeArrows continued to show competitive form in the Austrian free practice sessions. Heinz-Harald Frentzen remained in the top 6 throughout free practice on Saturday and finished 5th. Enrique Bernoldi could quite match Frentzen and finished 13th.
The first Saturday practice session got going under beautiful sun filled skies although' like yesterday, the weathermen were predicting rain later.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen shows that his pace demonstrated yesterday was not a fluke by taking an early 6th place, improving to second fastest on his next lap. Enrique Bernoldi also re-shows his promise of yesterday by recording an early 4th fastest lap.

Both Arrows men put in competitive times throughout the 45 minute session, with Frentzen on a late charge not settling for what is now 5th and improving to 4th in the last minutes of the session, 0.1"763 seconds of pace setter Michael Schumacher. Enrique Bernoldi could only manage 10th, although he was only 2/10ths slower than his team mate.

There is no sign of the forecast rain at the start of the second and last free practice session. It was a similar story for the OrangeArrows team with Heinz-Harald well inside the top six, and Enrique Bernoldi struggling to match his team mate. You have to give credit to Bernoldi though as he was trying, although perhpas too hard as he ended up in the gravel trap on his last run of the session.

Frentzen ended Austrian free practice in 5th, 0.933 of a second behind the pace setter Michael Schumacher, after 25 laps. Bernoldi could only manage 14th, 0.664 of a second slower than his team mate, after also completing 25 laps.

This site is praying that the forecast rain doesn't fall, as the A23's dry pace is certainly looking encouraging from the team.
