For AT&T
Williams driver Nico Rosberg the next two seasons with the team will give
him the opportunity to see the Williams return to be one of the top teams in
Formula One. For him it is a dream to see the British team return to its
past glory.
Nico
extended his contract with the team into the 2009 season on the belief that
the team can again be successful. With the changes to the technical
regulations in 2009 the playing field will be more equal for all the teams
allowing the Williams team an opportunity to be successful.
In an interview with the official Formula 1 website Nico said: "That would
be the dream: to make it with Williams. We need to take a step this year and
then another big step next year.
"We will have our chance next year, there is such a big rule change that
everybody has a chance. It's going to completely mix it up again. That's the
big chance that we need to take."
As for 2008 Nico is still careful in predicting any success, despite some
good testing form. Nico added: That would be a bit too optimistic I think."
"I see us fighting with Renault and Red Bull. BMW is the only one I don't
really know about.
"For sure it's going to be tight with Renault and Red Bull and I hope that
from one track to another we can get a bit of an edge over them.
"So our target is probably fourth in the constructors' championship at the
moment. That I would judge as feasible."
"We will have our chance next year, there is such a big rule change that everybody has a chance. It's going to completely mix it up again.
Exactly, everyone thinks they will have a chance. Ross Brawn is thinking about '09 too. But how realistic is it to imagine that '09 will upset the established order.
honda's prospect isn't looking too good. they may have ross but he's too late to develop the ra108. maybe they will get they power in the 2nd half of the season, not in the early races.williams chance is better, and with nico onboard, we can take some podiums this year, not a win.
