The performance of the AT&T Williams team in qualifying for the 2008 Spanish Grand Prix would prove to be a disappointing effort as neither driver would make it into Q3.

Kazuki Nakajima would qualify ahead of team-mate Nico Rosberg with the pair finishing in twelfth and fifteen grid positions at the Circuit de Catalunya. On his quick lap Nico would suffer from oversteer at Turn nine which would see him lose time. He would have finished closer to Kazuki had it not been for this moment.

As to whether the fact that the team was to use the same tyres that were supplied in Malaysia, where the team struggled, Technical Director Sam Michael later indicated that the team did not have the same problems that they had in Malaysia.
