| Reactions: British GP Qualifying |
| AT&T Williams had a difficult qualifying session for Sunday’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone today. Having suffered with an unresolved suspension issue all weekend, Nico Rosberg was forced out of Q1 in P18. Kazuki Nakajima fared only slightly better making it into Q2 but was restricted to P15, the conclusion of a lack of grip and an underperforming car. |
Nico Rosberg: "I’ve
had a problem with my suspension all weekend which is making the car
really hard to drive in the corners because it just jumps around all
over the place. We’ve obviously been trying to find a solution
throughout the sessions but, so far, nothing has worked. The race is
going to be very tough."
|
Kazuki Nakajima: "Obviously
it was a very hard qualifying session for us. I made it through to Q2,
but was struggling with grip, and the difference between our times and
those of the other team’s is quite significant. We need to find
something from the car, and from me, and we will need to do a lot of
work tonight to make sure we have the best strategy in place for the
race."

Sam Michael
Technical Director WilliamsF1 "We
had a malfunction in the suspension system of Nico’s car which prevented
him from improving his lap time. We will correct it for tomorrow by
changing parts. Kazuki did not have the same problem, but our car is
clearly not working well at Silverstone and his grid position is the
result. This does not represent the capability of the AT&T Williams
team, and we must work to do rectify that." |

I always had the feeling that Nico is not as good a driver as some would have us think he is.

.... but given they (apparently) dont know what the problem is, how can they argue what's damaged or worn?
"Point out the bit that's not right, Mr Michael"
(Sam Michael does a wide sweeping motion with his arm around the rear of the car)
"Something in .... there.... somewhere... I think"
