Rosberg: On the verge of solving problems

For the AT&T Williams team the last few Grand Prix have seen the team drop down the Constructors Championship points table. The team saw their season start successfully with a third place in Australia, but since then the team has struggled to get the best out of the 2008 FW30.

For team driver Nico Rosberg he has seen his position in the drivers title drop downward to the point that he is now fourteenth after having not score any points in the last six races.

This has seen the team trying to explain their poor performances but after recent work by the team Nico Rosberg is confident that the team is close to sorting out their problems that have seen the team struggle.

RosbergDevelopment work by the team has seen them come across an explanation for their problems. The team had run with new parts for the FW30 at the last Grand Prix in Hungary and these developments have confirmed that they are now heading in the right direction to sort out their lack of performance from the FW30.

In a recent interview reported on autosport.com Nico said: "We've got the bottom of one of the problems, yes. We have an explanation for it, especially when you consider that in the winter we were level with Red Bull and Toyota, and it's just gone down.

"But we know where one of the main areas is and actually I have learned something in Hungary, which was just a small step in another direction, to give us an idea if it's the right thing. I ran it in qualifying and it's quite positive."

As to how long it will take for the team to turn their season around Nico felt that it was not going to happen over night and that the current test ban is certainly not helping.

Nico added: "The problem is in F1 it takes time. You have to design it, then you have to produce it, test it, put it on the car. We won't see it in the immediate future - it's going to take a few weeks."
