Girls on tour - Day 1 Continued

The trip to Bristol Airport was uneventful thankfully as some didn’t make the flight due to congestion around Brizz. There were several other Warrior’s fans on the same flight including Jake Abbot’s Dad, who is a very nice chap and not surprisingly a very proud father!!

Now we had demolished one or 2 pints of Strongbow in the wait for the flight as we had got there nice and early, and once on the plane that theme continued ably assisted by the flight attendants who were just great fun. It turns out that both Tracy and I have misgivings about landing but the 2 attendants sat in front of us (We were on the front row) for the landing just kept us talking to us and all of a sudden we were on the ground!! Cool as!! Thanks ladies!

We were staying a little North East of Marco Polo airport and I had taken the trouble to investigate on the net how to get there so it was coach to Mestre railway station and then a short train ride to Mogliano Veneta. After getting off the train fine and dandy this is where things went slightly off plan. I had brought a GPS with the locations of the hotel and the stadium set in the favourites. But... there is always a but... The darn thing couldn’t find any satellites... So off we trudged in the wrong direction!!! (my fault!!) After sussing that the GPS could be used as a map we got ourselves back on track and soon found the hotel, booked in and then set off to find something to eat, preferably somewhere that had beer. Mission was accomplished and we ended the day’s journey with a good night in a local bar with some very, very interesting locals, but that’s another story!!
