Massa
aims to stay with Williams in 2016
Having moved to
the Williams team in 2014 Felipe Massa has seen his move produce several
successful results including several podium finishes. Now half way through
the 2015 season there has been speculation over who will be the drivers for
the Williams team in 2016. I lot of it has been in regard to his team-mate
Valtteri Bottas.
Felipe has
spoken of his desire to stay at Williams for another year, regardless of who
his team mate is in 2016.
When questioned as to whether he saw himself still at Williams in 2016
Felipe said: "I hope so. Nothing's changed at the moment, I don't see why I
should not be there.
"I'm really enjoying working with the team. The team is really respecting me
100 per cent and I think enjoying the way I work with the team as well.
"I see that the team is growing, growing and getting stronger most of the
time."
As for the speculation regarding his team-mate Felipe added that such
speculation did not surprise him given Valtteri's results while at Williams.
"I think he is one of the most important names on the market," Felipe said.
"He shows he is a good driver, he has the talent to drive in a top team, and
he shows he can do well, whatever team he is racing for. That's why all the
teams are interested to get him."
When questioned as to reports suggesting that Williams were not going to
exercise their one-year option to retain Felipe added: "I don't think really
this guy has the right information. I think he just put [it] in the paper.
I agree, it would be nice but I think we need to look to the future a little and there are some serious talents out there who aren't tied to any top team program. Ollie Rowland looks the real deal. Perhaps we should keep MAS and get him in the other car. I reckon he's as good as VES.
