The 2016 F1 season has seen the Williams team have limited results with Felipe Massa currently behind his team-mate Valtteri Bottas in the Drivers championship. With his contract with the Williams team ending in 2016 there has been much discussion as to where Felipe will be in 2017. Felipe has spoken as to how he is taking not just to the Williams team about his 2017 future.
Massa
not just talking to Williams
The pairing of
Felipe Massa and the Williams team commenced in 2014 and has produced a
reasonable level of success in 2014 and 2015. But 2016 has seen the team
have limited results with Felipe behind his team-mate Valtteri Bottas in the
Drivers championship. With his contract with the Williams team ending at the
end of the 2016 season there has been much discussion as to where he will be
in 2017.
Felipe has
spoken of how he is not only in negotiations with the Williams team but also
others, even though he would not elaborate as to which teams they are.
Felipe said: "The talks is for sure happening since a little bit of time, I
would not say just here in this team but around."
"I think now we have no one hundred per cent right answer [from Williams]
and in the time we will get the right answer, so we see what is going to
happen.
"The talk is not just in Williams.
"I don't really want to say names of teams or whatever but I am interested
in being able to drive in a team that I feel important, that I feel that we
can have a good result, a good job, and if I don't have that, maybe I will
not be here next year."
"I'm doing what I love to do, which is racing, but I'm not here just to
participate. I'm here to do what I feel that I can do, and to feel happy and
to feel that I am an important key in the team that I am working for, and if
I don't have that I'm not interested to carry on.
"You always have some interests outside but I think maybe when the decision
is one hundred per cent sure, we will see what we are looking at after
that."
Nasr? That means we are on the ropes again. That is desperate like with that other idiot. What was he called? Mouldy Pastygonads or something.
If we hire Nasr I am done with this team. I think Claire is better than that and Nasr is just a bargaining chip, not a serious consideration. Enough of this NAKABULLSHIT. Let's put serious people in the car.

It would somewhat go against Pat Symonds latest comments that Williams s now ready for a top line driver
symonds said he would like to have a 'superstar' in the car? sounds good but realistically dumb. all the 'superstars' are already contracted out to other teams besides who would want to drive a williams given their track record. no, symonds is just saying that to 'big up' his ambitions. what it looks like to me is that he's saying neither current drivers are 'superstars' either now or in the future! great motivation there for the rest of the season when the team is battling FI!!!
Button possibly edges on superstar. On profile at least and media draw. Nobody else I can think of get's anywhere near. Button is a WDC and that's not easy.
I think he's in the car in 2017. I suspect he is definitely out of Mclaren as they need to invest in SVD, it's common sense. Mclaren has no choice but to fire him. Williams has no choice but to hire him. Either BOT or Perez in the other car please. Stroll get's put in GP3 for 17, takes the title. GP2 in 2018, takes the title. Moves to Williams to replace Button in 2019 with a paid for supply of top line Honda motors. JB is ambassador.
