| Barcelona Test 27:03:2003 Day Three of Four | |
The third
day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya would see BMW WilliamsF1 driver
Ralf Schumacher set the pace recording the fastest time of the day. On
a cool and cloudy day Ralf and test driver Marc Gene would continue
development work on the new FW25. The days testing would see Ralf work
through various chassis setups and testing qualifying setups. The team would
come away from the day encouraged about the information that they had
obtained regarding chassis setups.Ralf's best lap was a time of 1m:15.345, which would see him over half a second ahead of the second fastest driver McLaren's David Coulthard, who set a time of 1m:16.075. Ralf would complete fifty nine laps. For Marc Gene the day again would see him conduct tyre testing for Michelin. Marc would complete eighty three laps and would set the eighth fastest time. Behind Coulthard would come Toyota's Olivier Panis followed by Ferrari drivers Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher. Again Rubens would test the new F2003-GA. WilliamsF1 Test team Manager Time Newton commented on the days testing: “Marc has spent today working on tyres, while Ralf picked up on our job list of back-to-back testing of new chassis components, and we have arrived at some useful conclusions. We’ve made some good headway on our ongoing chassis work, and the progress made is encouraging everyone to feel positive about Brazil.“ |
