RBR Friday Round Up
By Ian Lockwood May 9 2008
Red Bull Racing team quotes following Fridays two free practice sessions ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix. After a wet start to the second free practice session, Mark took a little too much damp astroturf resulting in his RB4 colliding heavily with a barrier and damaging the nose and front suspension. DC had a productive session, finishing fourth on the timesheets.

Car 9 DAVID COULTHARD, 1st Practice P17, 2nd Practice P4

"Today was similar to the Friday session in Spain - there were no major problems, it was all about following the track evolution and making sure we had the balance right. There are a lot of long corners on this circuit, you can see people are going off quite easily, so it's critical to get the front end right here. We'll look at the data now and decide what we'll do for tomorrow."

Car 10 MARK WEBBER, 1st Practice P16, 2nd Practice P19

"Going off the track at Turn 6 was 100 percent my fault. I didn't respect the green Astroturf that sits on the outside of the track enough. I was a bit too loaded up on the outside of the track, the Astroturf was a bit damp, and I went off, it was my fault. I apologise to the guys and we'll bounce back from this tomorrow."

classy of Mark to not blame the track or the car, but if he had of no one would have believed him anyway.

I reckon Massa would have blamed something else....

how typical of mark webber to put his hand up. well done. it would also appear that the RBR cars have some pace here so if they can keep both cars on the blackstuff they might do well during the race.

Webber will be right, with the track being so filthy yesterday he probably didn't miss out on too much.
We'll be right, I'll be more comfortable if he qualifies well tonight.

he ran very wide but didn't seem to care. As there was no gravel or wall i guess he thought he could just drive right on, till he hit that wet sponge...

Agree with you Duffer - he just pushed on and got caught out. The crash did not look too bad actually - just the bits coming off that are meant to come off - while not fun and a bit of work, should not be too much drama for the team
