Other confirmed launch dates are

15 Jan.Toyota
16 Jan.McLaren
19 Jan.Williams
19 Jan.Renault
20 Jan.BMW

Good to hear. Lets hope that it is a true race victory/championship contender.

"Our strategic plan has always been to take full advantage of the later start to the 2009 season"

This line makes me feel more optimistic about the delay.

Fingers-crossed it isn't pig-ugly like the BMW Sauber!

Any news on when Toro Rosso are likely to get their STR4?

- dank

I think Buemi's comments were probably STR related - so expect them to have the car just before Melbourne - probably for the last test. Not sure whether Buemi had it wrong, or was just misquoted/understood by the journalist.

@ DutchCruijff - the story is confirmation taht there is no delay - everything still going according to original plan.

Pft this sucks, why aren't they pushing the launch back to maximise the deisgn time?!? Thats how you make big leaps up the grid, which is what we need.

Can't wait to see all the cars this Jan and their ugliness.

I can puke at all the contenders, but by the time we have an RB5 it wall all look normal.

That's the plan.

Actually, after staring at the '09ish BMW, last years cars look very outdated to me now,..so I already love the look of these new retro modern cars.

btw,..the first time I saw that Williams with the '09 spoiler (spoiler) it actually hurt my eyes like the picture aspect was wrong,..like it should have been 16:9 instead of 4:3,..just like Aussie racing cars!

If only they could have left the actual wing widths alone they'd be the best looking F1 cars ever! sad smiley
