Pretty neat video tour of the RBR factory and design/manufacturing process:

Now let's see, where do we start to apply those budget cuts?!!!

How RB have changed from 2007.

I remember when Mark came on board and I started to follow RB, they had so many problem with reliability and organisation.

2008 was such a big improvement, and now they are what I would call the absolute showcase team for the sport. Innovative, within the rules, superb drivers, and a real genuine attempt to connect with the public on the sport.

What a great team. I'm even more impressed than when I was following Williams, who are an absolute hallmark of the sport.

Well blight, the vid was from 2008, so if it truly different thats remarkable, because it is just 1 year down the track from 2007.

I am impressed though. I'd like to see a 50 hour documentry that took a car right from the paper to the track.

The cars are R4's... That's probably all they have lying around maybe...

The bit with the nose test strength test looked like an RB5's nose.

Great clip.
Yeah LH it was a hash up of various things and time scales. some of the animation was the RB5 as well.
I'm with you Duffer, I'd love to see an in depth doco on the development of a car right from Neweys pen (including initial doodles, however fanciful) through to the time it hit the track. Can't see it happening though as to ensure secrecy it would have to be pretty ambigious and a lot of detail would be lost.

Imagine a Red Bull version of American Chopper with AN throwing stuff around the design office and having punch ups with Christian Horner. Helmut Marko would play the dumbo role of Mikey. smiling smiley

Have you seen "The Factory" - this documentary follows Williams through a season. As you say, lots of stuff gets missed out / blurred etc but gives you a more in depth feel of the life of an F1 factory.

You can catch up on some past episodes on the Eurosport website.

No mate I haven't seen it but sounds good. All I've seen along those lines was a feature done pre '05 when Mark joined Williams.

Unfortunately I only have a snails pace dial up internet connection so watching it on the net is out. Thanks for the tip though.

Nice vid. would looooove to have a tour.

I would also love a doco on AN designing the RB5. Together with the diffuser debacle and subsequent redesign by AN. Imagine where RBR would be if AN had difinitive rules at the start of the season!
