Silverstone Day 1: Pedro 2nd
By Sam Cooper
June 20 2007
The McLaren test and reserve driver Pedro De La Rosa finished the days test 2nd, just 0.1 seconds behind the low fuelled Toyota of Ralf Schumacher, who ended the day 1st, but his fastest run was done on low fuel, we believe that Pedro was focusing on aero and setup work, ahead of the Santander British Grand Prix in three weeks time.

Pedro completed a respectable 98 laps of the 5.1 km circuit, which equates to a massive 503km of running, the weather was sunny for the first days testing.

McLaren’s main competitors Ferrari were off the pace, Luca Badoer was testing for the Scuderia, his best time was a fraction under a second behind the pace setter Ralf Schumacher.

Red Bull continued their strong form with Mark Webber ending the day third, 0.6 seconds off the pace, he was closely followed by Hekki Kovalainen.
