Jerez Day 2: Pedro On Top In Spain

Today marked the second day of testing at the southern Spain circuit. Vodafone McLaren Mercedes test and reserve driver Pedro De La Rosa has ended the second day of testing at Jerez in first place. Red Bull driver Mark Webber ended the second day in 2nd place 0.6 seconds shy of pacesetter De La Rosa.

Pedro completed 70 laps of the 4.423 KM circuit. Pedro focused his day on testing various new aerodynamic components to try to extend Fernando Alonso’s and Lewis Hamilton’s lead over the fast closing Ferrari of Kimi Räikkönen.

Red Bull driver Mark Webber was next up, but the Australian was a massive 0.6 seconds behind pacesetter De La Rosa. Ferrari’s Luca Badoer finished a further 0.3 seconds behind.

Nick Heidfeld ended the day 4th in his BMW Sauber, Heidfeld was 1.1 seconds behind De La Rosa. Posting a identical time to Heidfeld was Vitantonio Liuzzi in his Torro Rosso.
