McLaren Looking Good For KERS
By Sam Cooper
January 9 2009
The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Formula one team are one of the few teams to be known to be on track developing their 2009 Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems, BMW and the struggling Honda team - who have been reported to have one of the most advanced KERS in the pit lane.
From reports published in the latter half of last year, its a common fact that McLaren's main rivals, Ferrari, are struggeling with the development of their energy recovery systems. At the last tests of 2008 they decided not to run KERS, instead they added weight and bodywork addtitions to simulate the effect of KERS, which could weight around 40kg.

Two methods of recovering energy from breaking are a flywheel which will stoor the energy and batteries.
