Honda's 'earth' concept to remain until 2008
By Phil Huff
March 26 2007
Despite mixed reactions from media and fans alike, Honda Racing F1's radical 'earth' livery is to remain throughout 2007 and 2008, RealHondaF1.com have learned.
Whilst team CEO Nick Fry couldn't comment at the launch on how long the concept would continue, a source has confirmed to RealHondaF1.com that there is at least a two year commitment, ensuring that the team will continue to grab attention before Formula One's first year of a more environmentally friendly approach.

With Honda Racing F1 are due to start testing an energy recovery system on their cars next year, and Honda cars releasing more hybrid options, the company are keen to build on the environmental image they have developed. With media coverage, both good and bad, helping to promote Honda's message, not only in the motorsport press but also in the mainstream media, the returns have already been significant.

It remains to be seen, however, if this increased awareness serves a purpose to the team sponsors, who are, thus far, under represented across the media, with the focus being, understandably, on the bold car design that, uniquely, runs without any sponsors logos.
