Brawn GP F1 entry approved for 2010
By Phil Huff
June 12 2009
Despite the disagreements between the Formula One teams and the FIA, all ten of the current F1 teams have been granted entry in to the 2010 championship, along with three new entries.

Brawn GP, as part of FOTA, had put a conditional entry in, along with the other FOTA members. The FIA have chosen to accept these entries, but state that the teams have been "invited them to lift those conditions following further discussions to be concluded not later than close of business on Friday 19 June."

It is inconceivable that an agreement won't be reached during the year, so Brawn GP look certain to make the grid in 2010. At least 10 new entries were made for the new season, with names such as Prodrive, Lola and Brabham being denied entry in favour of the established teams. That leaves just three slots spare, filled by Campos, Manor and USF1.

The complete entry list includes...

BMW Sauber
Brawn GP
Campos
Ferrari
Force India
Manor
McLaren
Red Bull
Renault
Toro Rosso
Toyota
USF1
Williams

The omission of Prodrive is a surprise to many. David Richards, previously the team principal at BAR Honda, has previously entered Prodrive, only to withdraw due to promised rule changes failing to materialise. Richards also made enquiries towards buying the Honda Racing F1 team that ultimately became Brawn GP.

The team entered by Brawn GP's Alex Wurx, Team Superfund, has also been refused entry for 2010.

The three new entries are still subject to final approval, pending the completion of the discussions referred to above. The remaining denied entries will still be investigated, should the above list change and a slot opens up.
