Irvine continued by saying "The guy has had so many chances. He seemed to have a lot of potential, but he doesn't have the drive of his brother."
He told Autosport of how Ralf does not have the "killer instinct" of Michael.
Like his older brother, Ralf was brought into F1 by Jordan. He stayed at Jordan for a second year in 1998 before moving to Williams in 1999. Throughout his 5 year history with Williams, the highest he finished in the championship was 4th.
Eddie said "He's won races, but who can't win at Williams, at the front, with the best tyres? Sometimes I used to drive the Jaguar around thinking I was a legend. Those races that I was going so well in, Ralf won, because of the tyres. It was nothing else. It was incredible the advantage Michelin had in some races. And Ralf was helped by having a team-mate who was sliding around looking for more grip on the grass!"
