Formula one: You make the rules
By TTF1
February 18 2006
Forum member Luke 'Casanova' has got the whole of TTF1 thinking on what we'd do if we took control of Formula One. Slicks, capping budgets, a return to 1 hour/12 lap qualifying and low fuel are some of the many suggestions put forward by our forum members.
Luke asked us to name up to 10 rule changes we'd like to see in Formula One, and as expect the ideas just kept on coming...

MarkWebber2006WDC wants to see low fuel qualifying, engines lasting just one race, the return of Sunday morning warm up, softer tyres and no more Traction Control.

Whereas Prodigy1988 wants a maximum aero limit, no more refueling, slicks, wants to stop drivers getting punished for engine failures and a maximum budget.

But devos came up with a clever idea for testing, "as well as the 1.4 million budget testing, also friday on gp weekends, has a 5 hour test split into 2 two hour sessions and one 1 hour session, the top 5 teams in the championship, test the first sessions, and the bottom rest, test the last 2 sessions." devos also added that there should be an additional point for the fastest race lap."

These are just a handful of comments left by our members, and some of the changes have given them good reason for discussion (an insight into what it must be like in an FIA's meeting room!)
