The Raceways Yamaha British Superstock team are facing a change in rider line up, due to South African Hudson Kennaugh making the move to the Virgin Media Optoma Loans Yamaha team to replace James Haydon for the rest of the British Superbike racing season.

They will be bringing in the services of Jon Kirkham to keep their two man team, and he will ride along side remaining rider Gareth Glynn.

Team manager Steve Rodgers said, “Our plan with Hudson was to get him to a position where he could take up a Superbike ride, and we have achieved that goal. It is a shame that he can’t continue with us for the rest of the season, but an opportunity like this doesn’t come along every day. We are all one hundred percent behind Hudson, and wish him well for the future.”

Kennaugh, who is a former South African Superbike Champion, said, “The Raceways team have been like my family for the last two years - I feel like I’m leaving home. They have taught me a lot, and I know that racing in the UK is tough but they have made it as easy a possible. I’m looking forward to the new challenge with Virgin Media Yamaha, and I’ll be cheering on the Raceways riders for the rest of the year!”

The Raceways team will now concentrate on grooming Glynn and new recruit Kirkham for similar success in the Metzeler National Superstock class, and hopefully prepare them for a future in the elite Superbike class.
