Team Evomoto
Dave, who now lives on the Isle of Man and has a state of the art race shop in Ramsey, has plenty of experience in real road racing as well. He was the man behind John McGuinness’ Formula 1 TT win in 2004, and has been preparing engines for many of the sport’s top riders in recent years - including Dave Molyneux, Martin Finnegan and Jason Griffiths.

Team Evomoto’s rider for 2006 will be former Manx Grand Prix winner and TT podium finisher, 27-year-old Nigel Beattie, from Laxey in the Isle of Man. Speaking about the signing of Nigel, Dave Hagen commented:
“Having worked closely with Nigel for the last two seasons, I have seen his riding progress in leaps and bounds. The team we are putting together for the 2006 season should enable him to be right in amongst the thick of it, at the major road racing events. Making sure he has the right equipment and support to do the best possible job this year is my mission, and I believe we have the right package. His dedication, professional approach and his passion for racing reflect my own, so I felt the time was right to start my own team, with Nigel as our sole rider to begin with.”
The team will be contesting all the major international road race meetings, such as the North West 200, the Isle of Man TT, and the Ulster Grand Prix, as well as the Southern 100 and Scarborough events. The team will have a Yamaha R1 Superbike courtesy of Robbie Black of Blacks Fireplaces (IOM), a Yamaha R6 Supersport provided by Road and Track Motor Cycles (IOM), Nigel’s own Honda RS 250, and the Mannin Collections / Lloyds TSB 125 Honda at selected meetings.
Speaking on the announcement Nigel said:
“I am really looking forward to next season working with Dave. So far his knowledge and skill have been invaluable to me, and last season he helped me to winning the Isle of Man Superbike and 600cc Championships, as well as securing many top ten finishes at the three big internationals events, and podiums at the Southern 100 and Scarborough Gold Cup. It is down to Dave’s machine preparation that we have not suffered any mechanical failures in the two years he has been preparing my bikes. My aim this year is to improve on my positions at the three big international meetings, and hopefully attract some additional sponsorship to enable us to compete at the highest level possible.”
Although Nigel has brought his loyal personal sponsors with him to this exciting new team, plus his four mechanics - who travel to all the meetings and pay all their own expenses, the team are still looking for sponsorship for 2006 and have, as yet, no title sponsor. They would very much like to talk to any companies or individuals who would like the opportunity to get in at ground level with this very exciting new, but vastly experienced team.
If you would like to contact the team they will be only too happy to show you around their workshop facilities, and give you a presentation of what they can offer you in return for your support.
