Team SAUBER PETRONAS continued its three-day at the Circuit de Catalunya today. Felipe Massa covered 68 laps in chassis C23-02 to set today´s best time of 1:14.655s.

Team SAUBER PETRONAS continued its three-day at the Circuit de Catalunya today. Felipe Massa covered 68 laps in chassis C23-02 to set today´s best time of 1:14.655s.
He was the second quickest driver in the team's second day of post-season testing. The new Michelin tyres appear to already be paying dividends as Massa topped the team's prior best time by more than 1.2 seconds.
"I was surprised how quick we were able to adjust the car to the new tyres," said a confident Massa. "We only made rather small changes and the balance of the car as well as the performance were good straightaway. We now have a solid basis on which we can build."
Team Principal Peter Sauber sounds confident that his decisions are guiding the team in an upward direction. "After the first two test days with Michelin tyres we are happy that the change to Michelin went without a problem. We mainly concentrated on gathering many data and adjusting the set-up of the C23 to the requirements of the new tyres. Based on this knowledge we can say that the car and the tyres fit together very well, which is anything but natural. We are convinced that the new C24 will profit from this combination. The lap times impressively demonstrate this."
Jacques Villeneuve will make his debut in the SAUBER C23 tomorrow as the team wraps up the week's testing.
