Heikki is "talking to many teams" for 2008
By Kristien Barker October 29 2007
Current Renault Driver Heikki Kovalainen has revealed that he is talking to many teams for a drive for next season. The young Finns contract with the Renault F1 team runs out at the end of the 2007 and has admitted that his future is still uncertain although he is talking to many teams about a possible drive for next year

Although the Finn had a difficult start to the 2007 season with many people doubting his calibre Heikki put on a strong comeback towards the middle and latter part of the season and ended up with more points than his vastly more experienced team mate in Giancarlo Fisichella, The Finn also managed Renaults only podium of the season, but still he has no certainties as to where he will be driving next year. Heikki revealed that it is not just Renault that he has been talking to about a drive for 2008,

"We have been talking to many teams and all I can say is I have a contract with Renault until the end of the year. We have to wait and see what the other guys do."

"I hope I am in a competitive team next year. I think Renault can be very competitive next year. It's still very difficult to say what is going to happen."
