The team's lead driver, Jarno Trulli, is quite confident about this weekend and is expecting to better his result at Sepang:
"I was a bit disappointed with my race in Malaysia, but we were competitive for the whole weekend and I had to push very hard to finish in fifth position. The car is handling very well at the moment, so I think that the next race might be a good one for us."
He is quite happy to race at Interlagos: "I love driving at Interlagos, it’s a very technical circuit, with a nice balance between slow and fast corners, which makes it difficult to master. I love it!"
His teammate, Fernando Alonso, does not agree with the views of Jarno:
“Personally, I don’t find the circuit very exciting,” he reveals. “Having said that, the Brazilian Grand Prix is one of the most physically draining races of all. You have to be on the ball; you get rattled around continually by the bumps, and the fact that the circuit is driven anti-clockwise is tiring for the neck muscles because we are not used to going that way round. It is essential for drivers to show they have made good physical preparation.”
Besides not being one of his favourite circuits Alonso is expecting a good showing by the Renault F1 team:
“We should be as competitive as we were in Malaysia, we have a very competitive package, and the extra test session on Fridays gives us a definite advantage.”
Alonso, who finished 3rd at the last race in Malaysia has drawn a lot of expectation from fans worldwide.
