After the recent performances from Alonso many F1 insiders were speculating with the possibility that a top 3 team could be interested in buying him out from his current contract.
Alonso, however, is looking forward to remain at Renault for many years:
"I prefer to stay at Renault. They gave me the opportunity to race in a big team, a competitive team, and from my side there's no pressure to leave, but in Formula One you never know what might happen."
Alonso, as any driver, wants to race for a team with chances to win, and he believes Renault has that potential, even if he does not see much chance yet:
"...Okay, we got a second in Spain, but it was a big surprise to me to be fighting a Ferrari for the win. I don't think it is normal for us to be fighting with Ferrari, McLaren or Williams and I don't think we will have the opportunity to win races again this year. Our target is to keep finishing races, scoring points and get the fourth place in the Constructors' Championship."
Alonso thinks Renault F1 Technical Director, Mike Gascoyne, is too optimistic for thinking Renault could win this year.
