Some weeks ago Renault announced that engine guru Jean Jacques Guru was to leave the team at the end of this month. Today, the Ferrari-Maserati group has announced the appointment of His to head the Grandturismo Engine Department.
His, that is about to leave his post in Renault as Director of Development at the engine division, has been working for Renault non-stop since 1988.
His recently declared in an interview with a newspaper that the main reason of his departure was differences with Renault F1 Managing Director Flavio Briatore.
Briatore announced yesterday the decision of the team to change its controversial underpowered wide angle engine for a more conventional engine "architecture".
